We spent great 3 days in the spectacular Big Bend National Park, park that many justly call three parks in one. With 800,000 acres Big Bend offers mountains, desert, and Rio Grande river environments. On the 1st day we picked our camping place in the heart of Chisos Mountains Basin and took our first hike "just to see the surrounding hills". With no plan and no detailed map we happened to choose trails that took us to the very top of the highest Big Bend spot, the Emory Peak (7825 ft, 2384 m). The views were magnificent and our unexpected "little" track turned out to be one of the peaks of the trip.
