The 1st day we visited USS Lexington ship, an aircraft carrier that was destroyed in 1944 by Japanese kamikaze. Then we spent the afternoon in 85 F (30 C) warm water close by, unfortunately full of jelly fish. In the evening we tried out the hotel pool too. The 2nd day we drove to Padre Island and stayed most of the day in the great waves of the Mustang Island State Park. The ocean was great, hotter than air, no jelly fish around, we hardly ever got out. We got burnt, sun block 50 was obviously not enough. In the evening we walked the water front of downtown Corpus Christi. The last day we checked out a shoreline play scape and finished up on the downtown beach.
