Squaw Valley Ski Resort in the North Lake Tahoe is one of the largest and most high-concept ski areas in the US. It hosted 1960 Winter Olympics. It is the second-largest ski area at Lake Tahoe (after Heavenly) and spreads across 6 peaks and 4,000 acres (16 km2), Squaw tops out at 9,050 feet (2 760 m). Its 177 runs are operated by 33 lifts. Such a huge selection offers terrain for everybody. We of course found the biggest challenge in the official Olympic downhill slopes, the reason why we chose this resort. The weather was gorgeous, however the amount of people (it was Saturday) quickly changed the tops of the peaks into slippery icebergs and the bottoms into slushy bumps.
