Heavenly Ski Resort in South Lake Tahoe: with its 95 slopes and 30 lifts that spread between California and Nevada on 4,800 acres (19 km2) it is the largest ski resort in California, and one of the largest in the US. It is also Tahoe's highest ski area with a peak elevation of 10,067 ft (3 068 m). The weather could not have been better, the snow was great, dry powder, and the views were absolutely amazing. All together it easily compensated for the fact that American Airlines lost my luggage and I had to rent or buy everything for that day.
